We believe that every design decision has an impact on our health, our environment, our productivity, and our future. We are committed to informing and educating our clients about the sustainable design options available on every level of a project today. “Green” design isn't an add-on in our practice, it is a core component. We are continually updating our Green library, and eagerly review and evaluate new products and practices. We are also active members of the U.S. Green Building Council and our President is a board member of the local chapter.
As a team, we are committed to maintaining quality in design while optimizing energy performance, reducing or eliminating waste, creating a healthy and comfortable indoor environment, specifying materials with recycled content and low/no VOC's, no toxins and utilizing products that are manufactured regionally. Additionally, we actively employ a comprehensive recycling program in our own studio space including mixed paper (including cardboard), plastic, aluminum, glass, toner cartridges, and hazardous household materials (i.e., batteries). We believe that green initiatives in business practice and design alike improve productivity, efficiency, and work to present a model for others to follow.
Finally, we designed and built our own LEED-CI Gold certified studio to demonstrate that green can be gorgeous, and that it is the right thing to do. We believe that our role is to design for today without compromising the resources of the future.
