Salt Lake City, Utah
This family-owned group of restaurants hired Cornerstone Design to elevate its “brand” while also creating urban, industrial interior environment with a taste of Steampunk influence. The 2,500 square foot space is located in an existing historic building of the Salt Lake City beloved neighborhood of Sugar House, and the main challenge existed to embrace specific building elements into the design package, while weaving in the restaurant’s new and updated brand. The anchor of the dining area is several horseshoe-shaped booths; tufted backs with a hint of metallic draw attention to this featured area, as do the Trolly fixtures overhead. The “Sugar” and “House” lighted elements on the wood walls refer to the building’s location in the City, and are a throwback element. Reclaimed wood tabletops by a a local craftsman set the stage for the dining experience, accentuated by upholstered and metal seating.
